THANKS FOR ELIMINATING A GOOD SURVEY TOPIC.

THE QUESTION WAS

ARE THERE ANY WOMEN ON THIS BBS. AND IF SO WHAT MADE YOU PURCHASE A PORSCHE?

ALSO TO THE MEN ON THIS BBS WHAT INTERESTING EXPERIENCES HAVE YOU HAD IN RESPECT TO MEETING WOMEN WITH YOUR PORSCHE AS OPPOSSED TO DRIVING ANOTHER MAKE?

I GUESS THESE ARE VERY VERY VERY OFFENSIVE QUESTIONS.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK OF WHY YOU BOUGHT A PORSCHE.
IT'S NOT ONLY THE CAR AND THE PERFORMANCE BUT ALSO THE LIFESTYLE.

YOUR LIFESTYLE MAY BE TO ATTEND WINE AND CHEESE PARTY'S. AND THATS A GOOD THING BUT IT'S YOUR THING MAYBE NOT MINE OR HIS OR HER'S.

MY LIFESTYLE IS MAYBE TO ATTEND CRASH TESTING SESSIONS WHILE THEY ARE USING CADAVERS. MAYBE THIS IS MY THING. BUT IT MIGHT NOT BE YOUR'S OR HIS OR HER THING.

SO IN SUMMATION WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN LIFESTYLES AND WE ALL LIVE WITH OUR CHOICE'S.

AND TO ASK IF THERE ARE ANY FEMALE PORSCHE OWNERS ON THIS BBS. AS WELL AS ANY FEMALE EPISODES IS...BY NO STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION AN OFFENSIVE TOPIC.

UNLESS OF COURSE YOU ARE LIVING THE LIFE OF A SECLUDED RELIGIUOS MONK IN SOME FAR REACHING TIP OF A MOUNTAIN THAT HAS NO POSSIBLE CONNECTION TO THE WORLD.

BUT THEN AGAIN IF THIS IS THE CASE WHY DO YOU HAVE AN INTEREST IN AN EARTHLY POSSESION SUCH AS A PORSCHE?

AND FURTHERMORE WHY OH WHY DO YOU HAVE INTERNET ACCESS?

A VERY IRRITATED MEMBER...

NOT SO MUCH AT THE MEMBER THAT DID THIS REMOVALE...BUT MORE TOWARDS THE ANAL RETENTIVENES OF SOCIETY. MOSTLY NORTH AMERICA.
HAVING SAID THAT I WOULD LIKE TO ASK THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMPLAINT. HAVE YOU EVER TRAVELED TO EUROPE (YOU KNOW THE PLACE THAT PORSCHES ARE BORN)?

Hey, be calm... it was not my intention to have your post removed .. it was the reply's from "AMC?" and "Mideastmafia" that had been submitted to your post that was the problem...

Your questions were and are not offensive... when the topic regress's towards p-size and other members submit direct links to a porn shot... that's offensive... It's not your fault that others are losers.

Imagine if you will that a female user chose to respond to your post... do you think that she might feel offended when she views a submitted link...

p0r2chby:If you find something offensive simply don't read it. Not everyone shares your opinion. I think this gets right back down to the core of what we were telling Shaun when he complained about all the new posts and replies etc. If you don't like a post or it offends you then don't read it. It's that simple. There were no direct links to porn posted. Further pictures were available at your own request. It wasn't as simple as click a link and boom. So if you don't like a post don't read it. Don't try and decide what I, and other members can or will read.

and now let me give an answer to your original question

My wife owns and drives our 85.5 (Guards red) It was a gift to her during our first year of marriage.

She does sometimes view this BB but is turned away by what she terms the "male fixation with cars"

Prior to the 944, she was in a 70 z-car.... After a few days of 1 on 1 with the 944, she was hooked. When asked why... you may here things like comfort, style, color but I think the truth for her is image.

Rollins, my son (12) looks at this BB. We work on "our" car together... I can't control what he sees and hears in the big bad world but I was hoping that this would be a safe place for him to pursue his interests.

But I to have children and understand your viewpoint.

But have action taken towards the offenders not the post.

I'm sorry but I have to revert back to rollins on the issue of freedom of choice.

It is my understanding that there are programs readilly available that can and will filter out unwanted material including porn. Through the use of a password.

This of course is to the best of my knowledge.

It is a bad bad world out there.
And any help we can get in the up-bringing of our children is appreciated and respected.

No hard feelings.
And perhaps lets all get back to the passion that has brought us here.
Our cherished porsche's.

I appologize for posting that stupid link, I thought everyone knew that I was just REFERING to it, not meant for you to click on it, because people had already seen it in the other post already, so they weren't going to click on it AGAIN. It wasn't a knew link, it was an old link, sorry if you just foudn out about it and didn't realize I was just making reference to it.
I purposely put in -www.thissite.com- so that it wouldn't be a clickable link, but this BBS automatically puts all links into clickable form even if you don't type in "href=". On most chats it doesn't do this. I haven't posted links on the site, just images so I didn't know it automatically put it into clickable form.
Again I appologize.

POr2chby was not the only one that was offended by the porn....I made a remark to wayne also. It was not only the porn that was offensive, it was the fact that our children read this site also such as we do.....alot of different people read this site and I for one am a fighter for free speech and think that the internet is the last frontier for the first amendment and should not be regulated.....however there are some popele who come to this site because they can bring theire kids along in learning about Porsche and making a family acitivity out of it...........vas

Keep in mind that the topic of the posts where "funky 944 $@&" and "women", not "how to fix a 944" or "my water pump is busted", so if you were here to learn about Porsche topics you just wouldn't click on a link that was slowly led into informing it was offensive. Just as you don't type in s---e---x on your keyboard when you put your fingers on it, even though the letters are there. If it was a misleading link, like "click here for instruction how to fix a 944" then sure that would be misleading.
It's not as if as soon as pelican parts BBS loaded on your screen there was a pic there.
You had to click on a topic that clearly stated offensive material. The "women" post title did not imply offensiveness, but once you got into the topic IT was stating "do you use your car to get women" , so if a link is added to that post, one with common sense would assume inappropriate material, its not as if someone is going to post a pic of an engine piston if the previous message stated something about a guy using his car to get women. There were no auto loaded images in the women topic. There was an auto loaded image in the Funky post (that was not revealing), but you wouldn't have clicked on the Funky post since it clearly stated s---e---x in the topic.
Like I say, you have letters on your keyboard, it is your choice to type certain words, they are there, just like you had to go through clicking and reading just to get to the offensive material, not as if it just popped out in front of you. If your keyboard had a pic taped on it when you pulled the keyboard tray out from your desk, that would be different.
You can't sue a search engine if you type in "men get women in car" and get you get a porn link, because anyone with commmon sense will know there may be offensive material if you click on one of the links.
I don't see why you would even click on the funky 944 %$^ post if you were just here to learn about Porsche and talk Porsche, and I don't see why you would continue reading the "women" post when it clearly leads to a link that you had to take your mouse and click on that implied offensiveness. The only way in this situation that you would have seen offensive material, or whoever, is if they went through a mound of implications, and if they did that means they are the problem and need some opposite-viagra drugs or some lessons on common sense, like when it says "cold" it means cold, and when it says "hello" it means hello! You can't blame your keyboard for having the letters S---E--X on it, if you type it in it is your choice, just like the click was your choice in the big LEADINGS that implied offensive material.
If you have cable tv and the tv guide says "getting women to lay you in your car" and you click on the tv control to go to this channel looking for a porsche does that make sense.
But if you walk in to a picture store and go back to the poster section entitled "hot xxx models" looking for porsche cars thats silly.
If your going to get mad at mideastmaf and I, then please also get mad at the person who created your keyboard. Right now I can make many offensive words looking at my keyboard in certain patterns, that is very offensive and I am very displeased whoever made the alphabet.

Basically these posts on this BBS are about as bad or good as your keyboard. You have to go through a bunch of stuff to get to the material, its not popping out in your face unless you go through this stuff or you have an automatic mouse that finds offensive material and shows it to anyone at the computer who doesn't want to look at it.
Then again I live in Canada and my computer runs off snow with a toque instead of a heat sink so maybe you have newer computers that have automatic porn finders or something in USA.

Keep the Porsch"a"s on the road is all I ask.

When I bought my first 944 (Guards Red 85.5), in college, the majority of the girls were neo-hippies and had lots of snide things to say. In fact my girlfriend at the time consistently referred to it as the POS.
Most of the ladies I've dated (with the exception of my current girlfriend, who autocrosses a little) couldn't tell a porsche from a motorcycle, and wouldn't care if they could. When you get past a certain age, sex doesn't happen in the car anymore anyway. Better have a decent house/apartment!

I'm 18, and to tell you the honest truth my girlfriend hated my car. She said it was too low, too uncomfortable, too unreliable (which was not true at all), and she just hated it. As a matter of fact she is really pissed that i might get rid of my jetta for another 944. But that's just too bad for her.

Within this post you make what appears to be a sincere apology and then later you post a rant about topics, selections and how its the keyboards fault... As a result you are very confusing.. So I'm glad you live up North and not in my neighbourhood.
(FYI - my son clicks on every topic regardless of its subject because sometimes the ongoing dialog moves to other subjects - we are working on keeping him more focused)

Once again, this posting by "kalamata" is getting trashed up and moving way beyond his original intention

Be stong.. a few month ago my wife made moves towards a Jetta. It took some work and a few special times with our 944 to re-direct her desires but now she is all hot for a Neon RT. We may do it as our beater car, a dart, is oh so tired and has begun to use a ton of oil. Her 944 has 160K on the dial and is in pretty good tune.

typical American "up north".
I don't live just up north, I am north of Alaska which is very north. Alberta is in the Northwest Territories, not jut "up north" thank you. In order for me to get to your town I have to take a biplane accross the Arctic Ocean so don't worry.
