Bursch Exhaust and Headers

I just got my new issue of the Tweeks catalog. I was wondering what you guys think of the Bursch Exhaust and headers for the 944na. The exhaust is $249...Is it a good deal? Is it better thank the stock exhaust? Sound good? And how about the headers?

yes on both counts. i've been told that the Bursch exhaust on my 924 makes the car sound just like a race car. i've done a few recordings and in an old post on here, someone put the sounds on their web page.

i've had nothing but compliments on the sound of the Bursch exhaust.

RaF944, see questions and answers on my post - Muffler Vibration Noise. I am using Bursch header. The header was about $210 including substitutive pipe for converter. Gaskets was about $10-$20. Plus S&H, the total was about $250.
After you put new header and exhaust on, make sure any part of the new system doesn't touch your car's body. Otherwise it will cause unaffordable vibration and noise. Check heat shell mounting points also.
You can choose either put converter back on or not. If you don't put Cat back (be careful with local emission control), make sure your old muffler can afford that much air blow through it. I could cause some metal sheet vibrate inside the muffler and very annoying noise.
Hope it helps when you get your new Bursch.

Eugene

If you want your Bursch to last longer, I reccommend that you remove the black paint that they have on it during shipping, and repaint your exhaust in a high temp paint. This makes it last a lot longer.

hoff944, why didn't you tell earlier. Now they are on.
How long do they normally last? How much longer?

D'oh!!!! I didn't realize you had done this. I don't read every single post. It just keeps the rust from eating it up so fast. I'm not sure on any specific time tables but the high temp won't burn off. Just an extra layer of protection.
