Later 944 Parkiing / Emergency Brake Handle in an Early 944
I read in other previous threads that there's an opportunity to install the later brake handle in the early cars but not much info if its direct bolt-on. One person mentioned having to drill a hole to line up but very little detail.
Has anyone done this retrofit before with simple bolt-on success?

I think it's just a bolt on. I have one in my early car.

Is there a benefit of installing a newer parking brake handle?

It'd be awesome if the later handle didn't catch my pants leg every time I get out of the car like the early one does.

That is why I don't wear pants when driving my Porsche.

For me, I'm doing it so that I have the leather wrapped handle and more solid internal mechanism. The early one is quite wobbly and I have to pull it out, fix it, put it back 3x now.

I believe its a direct bolt on. Later units are more robust and leather wrapped.
