In the middle of painting my 944...
Hey everyone,
I'm in the middle of painting the 944, been working 14hr days to get it done, but in five days I've sanded/prepped it, removed the bumpers, removed the bumper pads and filled all the holes, removed the doors, mirrors, gas filler door, rear hatch, rear windows, alarm lock, trunk lock, and windshield. I just got home (it's 2:30am) and got all pieces and the car in three good coats of build primer. Tomorrow (well, later this morning) I'm going in to block sand it, base and clear it. Friday will be re-assembly, and Monday the new windshield goes in. I've been taking a few pic's, and I'll post some when it's done (especially good for the people who ask how to properly change the color of a 944). The car will be 1996 Viper Blue Metallic. Funny, my girlfriend reminded me that this all began with "I'll just replace the bad hood, light cover and fender...) But the rest of the paint was pretty bad, and they are such beautiful cars! I couldn't bring myself to do a half-assed job!! If I decide to keep her, I'll spray the engine compartment this winter.
