Pin 31 on alarm box. Also, can i permanently just remove the alarm box
I messed up and jumped the wrong wires on my 89 944 alarm box. I located pin 15 to the fuse box. I want to check the other side of pin 31’s wire for damage, does anyone know where that runs too? Also I know it’s been beaten to death with this topic but can I permanently just remove my alarm box and wires and create a jumper in the fuse box. I do not want to have an alarm box at all in the car lol. Someone help 😭

Probably not.... in the late 80s, Porsche became more sophistacted with their alarm systems (classic case of better weapons necessitating better defenses) and integrated them into the wiring system.
I suppose you could try, but chances are that you will brick the car if you screw it up. I uploaded the wiring diagram for your car. You can download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1I8_Ja6DrEG1ukAs7wkSR0frWIONOVQEC/view?usp=sharing The file will be available for one week from today.

@944 Ecology - Thank you! It sucks you cant just remove the alarm box and boom the car works perfect. I just spliced in a new ground wire for pin 31 just past the burned part. I routed a new wire already from the fuse box to pin 15 and have that all connected now. Just I’m going to solder on the wire to the spring connector that goes into the fuse box because those are apparently impossible to find (I’ve been searching). I’m so mad at myself. I got the car running, it was running great and then I set myself back 10 steps. So is the life of a project Porsche 944 😭
