Idle screw.....GONE!

Yes. As I said. I took my car into the mechanic and he pointed out to me the idle screw was missing (i'm far from a machanic). He put a little peice of plastic to seal it but where do I get a replacment screw!? The idle has always been shakey..and now with this little peice of plastic...it runs smooth! hehe. Well any ideas on a replacement screw or even the size if it's a normal screw. Thanks a lot guys.

I have an idle screw from an 82 931, I was told or heard a rumor that the 944 shared the exact same throttle body as the 82 931, is the 951 throttle body completely different, and even if it is, is the idle screw the same as a 944? I may be able to help you out.
I can also measure mine for you with a thread gauge etc.

Question

Are you talking about the air bleed screw that fits down in the trottle body or the screw that adjusts against the trottle lever?

You would not be the first person to have their idle screw go missing. You can pick a new one up at your local Porsche dealer for a couple of bucks. If thew try to sell you a whole thottle body tell them to suck-it. The part is available separately, I know cause I lost mine once too. It is not a rare occurance.

So since that is a 951 part number is it 951 specific?
Are their any 944 non turbos with the same throttle body as a 951.
That screw in the picture is different than my 82 931 one. SImilar but not the same thread and mine is a round head with a slot head screw driver type.

I'm just wondering about a 944 throttle body if it will fit since my 82 throttle body has a hole in it when I bought the manifold complete.

The 82 931 and 81 931 have a single round throttle body, its a perfect circle, not an oval, not dual throttle body.
