Steering Rack???

I was wondering if anyone had any info concerning the steering rack cross member. Mine is leaking and I was wondering what my options are.

I got a rebuilt one from Advance Auto several years ago. It has a lifetime warranty. I suppose you can rebuild it yourself. I needed one in a hurry and did not have time to mess around.

It was 3 years ago. I think about $300. It was surprisingly expensive, but I checked around. Everyone seemed that high or higher.

I gotta get one too......Blaszak has the cheapest one I have found for $205, I think that Griffiths are the best but are more.

That's a good price on the Blazak rebuild. Personally, i went to the salvage yard and picked one up off of an 87 with 60k on it. It cost me $100 with fresh tie rods. It hasn't leaked yet, but i've only put an additional 10,000 miles on it.

KC, MO, just checked on rack $250, $100 core, lifetime warranty at O'Reillys (kinda makes ya wonder what they mean by "lifetime"??

I think it is for as long as you own the car. I also have a rear caliper from Advance. It leaked so they replaced it a year or so later, no questions asked.
