Wheel offset problem
Ok so i've had a problem with one of my front tires rubbing the fender since i put my snowtires on. But i always figured it was an alignment issue that i would take care of when it got warm.
Well i was looking and i noticed that the tire that was rubbing was mounted on a rim that was noticable thicker at the hub then the other three rims. Basically it comes down to this. I have 3 rims that are: 7Jx15ET52.3 These fit fine with no rubbing. and one rim that is: 7Jx15ET23.3 this rim is almost twice as thick at the hub. sticking out about a half an inch farther than the other rims. Well i moved it to the back thinking that might help but it looks like its still gonna rub. So i was just wondering what offsets everone else is running.. I have a 87 944 NA with phone dials. Oh and if anyone has a 7Jx15ET52.3 Phone dial rim they wouldnt mind parting with or swaping let me know. |
If you have a spacers (early 944 did) on the rear, pull the one off where the odd rim is.

you want the 52.3 for your car. Previous owner probably broke one and replaced it with the wrong kind.

Yeah, the 23mm offset if for '86 and earlier cars. You need to swap that one for another one that's the same as the other three. Wheel Enhancement might be willing to work out a deal with you.
