Center console rocker switches compatibility

The center console switches on early 944's are located next to the ash tray, the late - below the radio. Are these switches interchangeable? Can the switches from late models fit on early models (including 924S)? Are the switch opening dims the same? I'm thinking about a door lock switch to fit on early 944 (by the ashtray).
I think that the answer is negative, but, still, need your confirmation.

They are not compatible. The early switches are small, the late are much larger.
