Converting a 944 to US specs

I recently purchased a 1987 Porsche 944. The car is in excellent condition and I feel it might be worth the investment to convert it to US specs. I know I need to change the glass, doors, bumpers, and put a catalytic convertor on it. Does anyone know what else I might need to do. I have three years until I'll be bringing it to the States so I can spread the cost out. Thanks for any help.

Depending on where you are bringing it in to, you can get waivers on certain things. I live in Colorado, and we can get emission waivers on some imported and special situation cars.

I would check on the port where you bring it into first. They may have a problem with releasing the car from the port without teh proper us specs.

Aside from the emissions and whatever other conversions are needed to meet US laws, why would you want to change the bumper? I would definitely keep the euro bumper on it, looks a lot better imo

Trust me, I don't want to change anything. However, Eurospec cars don't come with the collision bumpers. So to meet US laws they'll need to be changed.
