Oil Filter Question
Something I read in the Performance Products catalog said to punch a hole into the filter so that the oil drains out. Has anyone tried this? Do I just punch a hole in the top?

The good ones have a check valve in them and will not drain back.
Was suggested recently that you pull an old athletic sock over the filter and use it to catch the oil as you remove the filter. I think you have to loosen it a bit first.

I've done the hole punch method twice now. Just remember to drain your oil first, then do it, else it could be a real mess.
