purchase of '84 944
I have a 951 which I love, but have been offered a good deal on a 1984 944. The upside is that it has only 25,000km (15,000 miles). Apparently these are all original! The price isn't bad, because it is left hand drive (LHD) and has been imported from Japan (a euro-spec car) to Australia where our cars are right hand drive. Most aussies won't drive a LHD car, but as I am from the US I don't mind.
Any tips or things I should look into before buying it. I am no mechanic and any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Go to the "First time buyers" section of this link: http://www.connact.com/~kgross/FAQ/944faq.html
That description is fairly complete. Problems with an '84 are not much different from your 951.
