Question need help- washer pump

I'm getting no voltage to washer pump. Wipers are fine. Any ideas?

Check the contacts in the control stalk. You need to pull the steering wheel so you can get the stalk off of the steering column. After that you should be able to see the washer contacts.

Use some fine sand paper (400 grit works fine) to clean the contacts and then use either a small hemostat (roach clip) or small needle nosed pliers to bend the contacts closer togetner.

Getting the washers to work consistantly was one of the first things I fixed on my '84.

While we're on the subject of electrical problems, I highly recommend getting a decent digital multi-meter.

I've got a Fluke 88; a decent DMM is pretty much required equipment for Triumph owners!

Personally, with the washer motor, I installed a small relay for the switch in the stalk to energize that in turn fed power to the washer motor. THe current drain over time pits the contacts and takes the tamper out of them....
