Is it RICE to lower?

Was looking at a Black 944 Turbo with that fancy tailgate thing/bra/cover on and admired the ride height.
If i was to lower my car, would it look as good, look rice, be difficult to do?

thanks!

When you lower by chosing the appropriate spring rate & length, shock valving, bump stops and adaquate suspension-travel so that it improves the car's handling - then its not "rice".

BUT! If you put more than a stock wing on the back -- something that looks like two towers and a section of 747 wing -- then THAT is RICE, RICE, BABY!

I'd better dump the spare 747 wings from the roof then..oh..and the snow plough conversion on the front with indigo halogen sweeper lights.

damn.

Only IF the add ons were not on a production 924-931-944-951.

I favor the 968 rear wing.

Rice is cutting the springs to lower a car and make it 'look' like is has suspension work done when in reality, after cutting the springs, its a danger to the driver and other cars on the road.

Dropping the car to attain a lower center of gravity (using correct parts to do it right) is performance oriented, not rice.

Have a race shop who knows Porsche suspension systems give it a proper competition alignment. Nice stance, and very functional!

my '86 951 is factory lowered

they lowered it 1.5" (i think)
i'm not sure what they did to lower it though
I think it looks way better than stock in my opinion
(looks less like it's about ready to jump!)

i don't think anything "time tested" (ie sold by Pelican or Performance Products or Tweeks) can be considered rice. Hence, lower front springs and 968 spoilers aren't rice.

I like my logic.

It's sad..... As much as I despise rice....

I like the looks of that... Allthough I don't like the added lip to the front spoiler. I like the front better like this :

Maybe just some oriental rice with Sourkraut mixed in.

Maybe the wing is a bit much.... But the overall design of the 944 pulls the look off nicely, IMO.

I dunno, if I ever broke my front airdam(read: roadkill), I might consider that front air dam to update the look of my front end.

I think a couple of guys at Rennlist have the fiberwerks nose panel on their cars. Looks alright imho, but I prefer stock. The rear spoiler of that car I don't like.

Scary, those Fiberworks rear spoilers and bumpers make the 924/944 look really honda-esque and ricey, IMO. (i'm probably sealing my fate, saying such a thing).
