Callaway Pics

Here ya go, the engine bay still needs to be cleaned up a bit and some of the wires need to be routed a little better but here it is anyways,

Intercooler and lots of bugs

Here is the new muffler, doesn't look too bad. I actually like it.

Here is a pic of my stereo install, someone wanted to see it a while back so here it is. Box is easily removed for Solo II's

Those IC couplings hanging under the car are a bit scarry.... I'd be apt to carry some spares and spare clamps, just in case the unexpected speed bump tears a hole in one.

Is this an actual Callaway conversion, or something you did to a standard N/A? If it's not a Callaway, watch your boost levels, and use some high octane gas. I was reading about how much work that Callaway did just to lower the compression to make the engine more 'turbo' friendly. I'd be a little nervous to even run 7psi with 9.5:1 compression and pump gas.

It is an actual Callaway kit. Don't worry, I built the motor right with lower compression etc.

I have been running 10psi and is it ever a difference over stock. I had it up 150mph the othe day like it was nothing. I will have it oin the dyno in 2 or 3 weeks so I will be able to post the actual graph for you all to see.

CJ: I will have pics off the whole car soon, It was dirty at the time I took these pics so I didn't want to show her all dirty.lol

Callaway claimed what? 280hp or so? How much power can our transaxle and torque tube handle?

Either way, those Callaway turbos are some awesome 'sleepers'

BlueQuestTSi: I am not sure how much HP the tranny will handle. I am quite carefull with it, but I am sure I will eventually find out it's limits one way or another.

They are no longer in production and haven't been since 84/85. So your only hope to get one is used. With only approx. 32 ever produced, the odds of it are not too likely. That is why I jumped upon this one when I found it.

..Kent...

Your tranny should last a while as long as you dont abuse it..........

If you go and drop the clutch at 5000 rpm in 1st gear....its not going to last............ but if you floor it in 3rd, she should take the punishment just fine. I would be more concerned on thrashing your CV's on the first spirited 1st gear run.............

In the winter I am going to be looking for a custom lsd 951 tranny ......and when I find one........... I will have a 951 tranny for sale.
