I've had the car for about 6 years now, and I'm getting kinda bored with it. Don't get me wrong, I still love it, but, when I get in my better half's Olds Cutlass, I kinda like the HUGE comfort factor. No rattles, no exhaust noise, and not having to shift 400 times just to drive out of town.
I need your help! Refresh me on why we love these cars! Maybe I just need to go out for a long hard drive. |

you must have an n/a.
why not do something like add nitrous? several people here have done it, and they say safely. cheap, and if you do it right, no big threat to engine. there are also supercharger kits for n/a's, but i don't know specifics. and if that doesn't grab you, go out & test drive some used cars of equivalent cost; you know, those cars that you could own instead of a 944. i bet you'll appreciate your 944 all over again. ![]() |

I like my 86 track car (turbo) because it will whomp just about anything else on the road. And the cornering is excellent. It is rough riding and noisy. When I tire of it I take one of my other more civilized cars. I live in a small city and you don't have to do much shifting. Mine has a cage so getting in and out is not the easiet of things. I am glad it is not my only car, but I would not be without it or something as potent.

Yeah it's an N/A. I am honestly thinking about taking my extra set of Cookie Cutters to the powdercoaters for a "Blackfoot" treatment. That is, with Blackfoot's permission of course.

I get bored with my n/a sometimes as well. I end up just parking it in the garage for a week or so, until I end up missing it. I think the ultimate solution will be to trade it in on a 951. I can't wait until I get one. BTW, you think you do a lot of shifting in a 944? Try the shift pattern on a tractor-trailer, like an 18 speed. Actually, it's a lot of fun. The clutch stiffness makes a 944 look like a toy clutch, though.

You need to take a longggg drive down to Nashville Tennesse, then head east about 250 miles. The place is called Deals Gap. The speed limit is set at 55mph and there is no way your average car can get anywhere close to 55mph. Deals Gap contains over 300 turns in an 11 mile stretch of road. 2nd and 3rd gear will be all you need. Take the top out and leave the windows down. Keep it between 4K and 6K RPM the whole time. Talk about a blast.
Or you could do like what was mentioned above and park it and drive the boring Olds Cutlass around town until you realize what your missing. ![]() ![]() [This message has been edited by hoff944 (edited 03-31-2001).] |

You see, acording to mideast, you get horney when you buy/use a NOS. SO, your car is going faster but you still have that shifting prob! Well, use your NOS and you will gain a lot of strenght beating off. Assuming you use you right hand...

i like to compare fine sports cars to high end stereos. you can spend between $200 to $10,000+ on a home stereo, if you personally cannot tell the difference(except for looks), buy the $200 one.

I CAN tell the difference, maybe I just need to drive a beater (no pun intended) for a while, so I can REALLY remember why I love this car.
