Did anyone ever find some front speakers that will mount flush in the door, I really need some.

Alpine CDE-7821. They were in the car when I got it, sound GREAT, and appear to mount right in the door, no mod's required.
I have no idea how old they are, or if they are still available, but perhapse if they are discontinued an Alpine dealer could help find a sutable replacment.

Whoopse - sorry, that is the CD player part number. I will get the speaker part numbers tomorrow.
I know they are Alpine 2-way's and they appear to fit right in the door. Anyone try www.crutchfield.com? They have a look-up system that, as far as I know, is pretty accurate. Hope this helps,

Ah! found the box for the speakers - they are "Alpine 6045gx 4" X 6" plate speaker"
As I said, seem to fit perfectly.

My recommendation is to forget about mounting them completely flush with the door, and install good 6 1/2" two or three ways. These will fit, and look very professional (that is: will not detract from the look or functionality or the door) if you use extention rings. I did this with my old 87 924S and the sound from the 6 1/2's is vastly superior to any 4X6 you can install. With the rings, the new speakers only extend out about an extra 1/2" from the door.

i have the alpines in mine and some crappy tape deck that the original owner stupidly installed. It is ugly and chitty.
I need one of the door speaker covers, if anyone has an extra one.

Also you might check out the Pioneer TS-G4611 speakers. I bought a pair months ago and checked the fit yesterday and they fit well.
