Question europroducts chip

Has anyone had any experience with this chip? It seems alot cheaper than some of the others so I was just wondering how good it is. Also has anyone ever seen a cone filter conversion for the 944 S ?

See my post to the US944 to European Spec about the intake. You'll have to read through some stuff, but it's there!

Don't know about the chip, but I wouldn't buy from a source that you don't have much info about. The chip holds all engine parameters, and wrong programming can lower the life of your engine considerably. I don't think a chip is a good place to look for cost effective power anyway! (although I'm working on one!)

Just about everybody seeking performance changes their chips. I rarely hear that these chips significantly decrease the life expectancy of the engine, they just optimize everything for higher octane gas. Look at GRM - they put one in their 944 project car and claimed it worked very well.

Just noticed you had an "S" - I have a set from my '87 that I parted out if you are interested.

I put the Europroducts chips in myself last year. Got both the dme &klr ones as well as the shim that comes with it for the wastegate. Europroducts reccomends drilling out the cycling valve. I didn't do this because I have a boost enhancer from Lindsey. I talked with them a great deal prior to buying. They said that there have not been any customers who had problems except one who was highly modifing his car. He blew the head gasket. I am extremely pleased with this setup. Definite increase in performance.. I use my car as a daily driver, for autocross and will start doing DE track events this year also. Probably going to start at Limerock and New Hampshire Int'l. I have never seen any posts here or anywhere else that complains about the europroducts chips. I have heard plenty of complaints about others.

I bought the Europroduct chips myself and shimmed the wastegate (didn't drill the cycling valve...drill, and engines, I just don't like that). I believe I noticed a difference, whether from the chips or the shimms I do not know. I do not think though, that it raised my redline by 400 rpms (as it said it was supossed to), because as I hit 6400k, fuel shuts off.
