Post Tire Pressure

I recently upgraded from the stock wheels (phone dials), to 17" Boyds with 45 series tires (the wheels only way 18 lbs so I dont want to hear any "heavy" comments). My question is should I still use the factory pressure recomendations? If not, does anyone know some good pressures to run? Thanks.

I don't think you should go too far from factory recommendations. Are the tire widths the same as factory, as well as same front to back as they used to be?

On the other hand, how much did you pay for them? 18lbs isn't bad for a wheel at all!

Question

Need to know your original tires sizes and your new tire sizes.

For example, 15" wheels with 215-60-15 tires Porsche specifies 29 psi front 36 psi rear IF you havethe 16" upgrade with 205/55/16 and 225/50/16 then Porsche specifies 36 psi at all four corners. Same for the 968 with 17" wheels.

That's what i thought but i wasnt sure. The wheels are factory width, 7" front 8" rear, I put 225/45 and 245/45 Sumitomo HTRZ tires, they seem like a really good tire so far, and were a reasonable price. As far as price, I got the deal of a lifetime, some guy bought the wheels off a friend of his just for the tires that were on them and he just wanted to get the wheels out of his garage, $400 for the set and their like new, those things were damn near $400 each new. I gonna get some pictures up soon, they look awesome, they are a directional 5 spolk polished aluminum.
I think it was the 17x7 that was 18 lbs, didn't weight the 8".
My original size was 215/60-15, and the gas door says 29psi front, 36psi rear.

what?! Are you serious?! Thats what Boyd mainly makes now is truck wheels, Oh well, I like them and they were lighter and cheaper than the other wheels I was thinkin about. I'll try to get a picture of them on the car they look pretty sweet.

Yah, I'd go to something like 32 front 34 rear or so...
