What is it worth?

I am interested in going to look at this car but am unsure of what it is really worth. I have always had 911's and this would be my first 944 so I really don't know what to pay. It looks like it could be a good addition to the garage to sit next to the 911SC.

I recently purchased the same year car with 158,000 miles for $4750. It had a new clutch, moter mounts, timing belt and struts. I think I may have paid a little too much, but the car was in great shape and I had to have it. I don't think I'll ever drive anything else (until I find a 951)

This is a very nice example of the 951. Looks really good for that year as well, I am drooling. My bets are that it will go for at least $6000 but seems worth more, especially if the service records are right.

I will, eventually, have one to go with my n/a

I completely spaced the fact that this was a 951. My 86 is N/A. TCMdocs944's estimate is about right. Nice car!

SO far the price is great. I will honestly be shocked if it sells for anything under $8000. I'm actually kinda curious on what the reserve is, my n/a might be going sooner than next summer

I called the dealer for this car and they don't have any idea of what maintenance has been done. I spoke with a guy named Sam and he was nice enough but they really don't know anything about the car mechanically other than it drives good and pulls hard, but what would you expect a car dealer to say about a car he's selling?

The only ideas I would have would be to budget enough money to have the belts/rollers done if you're going to buy it or arrange for a PPI to be done before the end of the auction. The number for the local Porsche dealer in Birmingham is 405-397-2700. I did ask Sam about this and he's fine with the car being looked at by a Porsche mechanic while it's for sale.

I'm in the market myself and if it wasn't for the fact that I don't care for the gold I would probably have a PPI done today on the car and if it turned out well, buy it. It looks to be in excellent condition from the pictures, but I've been looking for a while and I'm holding out for as long as my wife will let me for exactly what I'm looking for. Good luck if you decide to go for it!

I just sent an email to TK asking if they would replace the timing belt/rollers and provide a 30 day warrantee for $8900.

He didn't like the warrantee idea. Looks like I will keep looking.

They advertised maintainence records, and then say they don't have the history?

Too bad, cause I really like the gold. Maybe keep an eye on it, and if you could get it for REAL cheap (with PPI) it would be worth it, but it would have to be cheap enough that you wouldn't mind immediately giving it an overhaul (belts + pumps + fluids + clutch) as needed. You;d have to assume a lot of replacements right away.

The caliber of car's they have on their lot, and they won't give you a 30 day warranty?? That's just unbelievable....

Here's an index of their cars: http://www.f1scc.com/index_01.html
