Talking CLUTCH DAY!!!!

hey guys, in case any of you are interested i started working on my 84 944 to replace the clutch. i started at 1:30 p.m. i got as far as removing the exhaust, c.v.'s <--both are bad, tranny<-- with dads help, starter, slave cylinder, drive tube slide back and 3 of the 4 bolts of the clutch bell housing. took me 6 hrs taking my sweet time. i did most of the work myself except for the tranny drop which my dad helped. TIP: slide the coupler for the tranny and driveshaft towards the rear of the car, i spent 45 minutes boggled why the tranny could not drop when i slid the coupler towards the front of the car, 45 min lost . anyways, i will continue tomorrow with the project and hopefull, god willing, get done on sunday. wish me luck....p.s. if you have any tips which could help me i would greatly appreciate it. p.p.s. thank god i got a parts car in case anything goes wrong or will find something bad or broken.

Just soak the uppermost bellhousing to engine bolt on the driver's side with lots of penetrating oil. Work it loose, don't muscle it loose or it WILL strip.

thanx for the tip imf. i got most of it done. all i have to do is put back the exhaust and the cv axles. clutch wasnt that hard at all, just time consuming.i took a lot of time replacing the slave cylinder. it was leaking and the bolt was rusted. 45 min later with a lot of patience and penetrating oil i finally got it out. so far so good with the job. i should have it done tomorrow or monday. thanx
