'SpiralMax' - Turbo Air Twister... Hmmm?
Hey guys...
I was just surfin' the web, minding my own business... Then BAM! I click on this link, and it brings me to this site for a product called "SpiralMax"... It looked interesting, so I read on. I really don't know what to conclude from it.... Check it out, and let me know your views. Thanks. SpiralMax - Turbo Air Twister

Yeah, that's the same thing as the "vortex". They have commercials on TV for them. 20 more HP! My check is in the mail...
but seriously, I hear that they actually lower performance.

makes sense. I mean, why would anyone put something in their intake system that would actually restrict airflow??

it's just one more obstruction in the way from the air box to the engine.

if you watch the info-mercial for the vortex, when the chinese guy shows the example of the 2 liter bottles flowing water through each other you can see him squeeze the top bottle to disrupt the flow of water when you dont use the vortex.

Is that the little sheet metal thing with 3 or 4 twisted vanes? I saw one the web can't remember where about a guy picking up a car length a straight running something like this under his carb. I expect that if true it was due to fuel distribution instead of airflow.

Kind of sounds like "supercharge your car with a turbo charger!" And anything that's $69.95, and "forced induction" sounds a lot like it's going to be made out of paper.

I'm going to make a "power-cartridge" that can add 10hp to any car. Its a pack of 4 road flares taped to a powerful magnet. You slap it on your trunk, light them up and "oh snap!" it'll make yo ride fly, and look fly doin it, playa. They provide the extra thrust your car needs to power into the 21st century.
Then I could laugh every time I saw one on a car, knowing they paid me $50 for some road flares. |

you can save some money and go to the local marine store and buy a 3 inch inline blower motor. it's the same thing except $40 less. and no they don't work. the volocity of air being sucked in by the engine is far greater than a little 12v fan can produce.
