I have about 300 dollars to spare on the car and was wondering which would be a better thing to do. Change shocks/struts all the way around or to change motor mounts. I definatly need the mounts, but also when i was getting my rear tires changed the left rear shock is shot. So which should I do. Any suggestions? (can i even get mounts installed for 300 or around there?)

I'd personally replace the shocks...
Is this the car you're selling, or do you have 2 88 944 turbos? Ahmet ------------------ It's all the driver... |

The one I'm selling. But it isn't looking to good at the moment. I'm having a hard time. No one is interested. Silly people. It's clean and has the usual parts replaced and low miles. Low price from what i've seen (down to 11,ooo now). So I just have 300 bux I either have to give to my dad or he'll let me put it into the car and he'll call my debt even...so I'm putting it into the car. It will be just normal shocks/struts. Nothing special

Goku, $11,000 IS kinda pricey for your car. If the motor mounts/shocks are needing to be replaced, both water pumps leak, and if it still has small electric faults, I doubt anyone out there is gonna buy a car at that price and be willing to pour more money immediately into it. Would you consider just keeping it? I'd imagine it has great sentimental value. Mine sure does to me

Well. My water pumps don't leak anymore. I fixed em. The electric has been fixed. I'm getting the shocks replaced, and it has low miles. I"ve seen older turbos with twice the milage sell for much more...so I don't know. I'd love to keep it. But I can't. I'm going to school and would have 710 dollars of car payments (not to mention ins.) every month..plus an apartment. I can't afford that on a part time job.

buy rear shocks and motor mounts, and install them yourself.

Most definatly do the motor mounts. Nothing makes a potential buyer more nervious than a loosy goosy motor bumping around on its mounts. Kinda makes you think the car is about to fall apart or that a rod or something is about to escape.
Price for car is to high. IMOP, you need to be around 8K |

Yes, fix the motor mounts, it'll make a better impression on perspective buyers. 944s with worn shocks (like mine) still handle well.
