cutting out after 3000 rpm

My '86 N/A Cuts out when I accelerate. Runs smooth otherwise. It just seems to stick.

Recently replaced AFM and TPS, good ignition, wires and plugs.
Anybody had this happen ??

Does is do it if you just rev the engine or must it be under load where it need a lot of fuel flow?

Under load (in gear).

Also first start in the morning is ROUGH, then smooths out and subsequent starts are easy and smooth.

Wonder if it is starving for fuel.....When did you last change your fuel filter? Has it done it with more than one tankful of gas (implying bad gas here)? You might check the connections at the fuel pump. They could be corroded and causing intermittent contact. These are some of the simple and cheap things to look at first.

On an 86 turbo, the fuel filter is in the rear. I imagine the NA's are located in the same area. When dry, a fuel filter is easy to blow through if it is ok.

I hate it when people have problems and don't get back with the solutions, so here goes. Swaped out all the fuel gear, AFM,TPS,Fuel filter, DME, FP Regulator, ends up that cylinders 2 and 3 were starving because of dirty injectors.

Techroline to the rescue! I hear that the Red Line cleaner is better though, I may run a second tank of the Red line just for good measure.
