Porsche Crest Louisville Autocross pics.

Rammstein posted that there was an autocross coming up in Louisville so Macfreak007 and I took a trip down to watch. (next time I WILL be driving in the event) There were about 60 cars there. Porsches: 1 944, 1 951, 1 '83 911, 996 cab, boxster, 993TT!,'03 996TT!! Here are some pics...
The twin turbos...

I got to take a ride in this corvette for a lap, wow it had one of the highest times of the day. It was incredible...(45.4 seconds)

The other 944 (i think his best time was 50.8)

Rammstein's 951 (I think his best time was about a 53.4, pretty good for a first event...)

Starting line...

my car sitting next to rammsteins...

I've seen that 993TT at a few autoX competitions here in Lexington as well. The other 944 might belong to Mark Palmer, who sometimes posts at Rennlist. Damn, I can't wait to start autocrossing my own car.

Auto-xing is a good way to learn some real car control skills, it's a great place to start learning to drive well or competition driving (OK, so it's nowhere near as good as karting). But I don't understand the people who'll trailer a "race car" set up to only do auto-xing, 400 miles across the country, spend $100s in a day, use their entire day to work the course, pick up cones, etc. and drive for ~4 min, pack up and go back, just to do it again some other time...

Oh and do it with cars like 993 twin turbos, or Corvette Z06s...

I was busy filming a few of the other cars during the twin turbo's runs, but I do know that the 993tt got like a 45.0. the 996TT was just a little behind. Two vehicals got better than the 993TT (in all the classes), a supra and a high-performance gocart were running mid-44's

Oh, and for tire pressure the guy with the black 944 said that when he was running street tires he was at about 45 psi.
