Talking BOOST BABY

First of all, 951 owners or knowledgeable, what size is the wastegate line, where does it come from, and what size is the part going into the intake duct or manifold, or wherever it comes from reading pressure? Is it the same as a 931, close to a quarter inch (but metric of course) wastegate line, and what size going into manifold, any adapters etc stock?

The boost controller that people say you can get at hardware stores for 15
dollars, little brass coupling for air tools, it will not work. The
wastegate line has a connection like a ball inside, the inner part that
makes the seal. The air tool couplings have a small hole and this ball will
not fit in. The size is wrong, one side is too small, the other is too big.
The thread is wrong and is not tappable since one side is smaller.
There is no way you can get a wastegate line on one of these flow regulators
from the hardware store, there are like 5 things stopping you, and they just
do not work.

There is one on ebay that is the proper item and is made for the 931 and
will work.

The main problem is that with all the air compressor regulator stuff at stores that bleeds
off pressure and lets stuff go through to the other side at a specified
pressure, like on an air compressor that compares the tank pressure to the
hose pressure you have for you tool...well the problem is that it will not
change respondingly so that the wastegate opens at the right times in different situations...it will keep your wastegate open at a certain
amount, and not open it any more or any less, it will just hold it at that
position and it will interfere with the wastegate doing its job correctly, you can't have two controllers, it's like a siameze twin.

You would have to get a bleed off system that lets off lost of pressure when
boost is low, and let of a little pressure when boost is high.

With the one on ebay, www.ebaymotors.com search for porsche 924 turbo, it
controlls your pressure respondingly, does not vent off and keep a constant,
it controls it accordingly and doesn't affect anything other than upping
your boost more, and faster, which is what you want for cheap price.

The other main problem is saftey for clogging up.
The needle valves i looked at looked dangerous, they can fail, they can clog
up etc.
This controller on ebay compared to a needle valve or other type of
restricive system is just like like a straight through
muffler as compared to a stock muffler. Stock ones clog up if you have stuff
in your exhaust.
You can take this one off to clean in 2 minutes too.
These turbos blow oil on most cars since people don't rebuild turbos at
proper times, and even rebuilt ones blow some oil, and ther is always dust,
and air filter bits, and always your oil seperator oil or steam, so a too
complex valve would jam up with oil and crud, and it
can always fail on you.

Four words...fuzzy logic boost controller. Also, replace the standard line with a new silicone one.

If you have to ask you can't afford it...lol...what are you doing driving a 931 anyhow? (just kidding my friend). Seriously though..they are about $300 used or almost new.

exactly the reason you should stay simple and tell me what size the 951 line is for the wastegate, so that I know what fits and what don't.
931 is metric 14 1.5 grade.

Try 6mm silicone hose - that should be fine.

Oh so its not a connection, it just pops on?
Its not threaded in?
Is the 951 a metal duct or is at a boot for the intake?

931 is a crossover pipe duct type system, and the fittings are threaded in for the wastegate line...
