Yikes, If the shop flush didn't do it I'm not sure what will. Was this a radiator specialty shop where you just take the part in? They are the guys that really blast the hell out of it.

I am working on the same thing myself off and on So far..... Flushed system Changed to a lower temp thermofan switch 50/50 coolant mix (only use distilled water) Added a flexlite lowprofile fan for the missing one the PO took out! Plan on Really need to power flush from back of block to firewall return pipe changing to a lower temp thermostat Thought about exhaust manifold fiberglass heat wrap Really, Really considering getting the "924 turbo ovals" cut into front. I have read where a K&n cone can actually allow more air into the engine bay, thus more cooling..Not sure if I believe it just yet. I will take any hints as well...Fla really is just Hot, warm and hotter throughout the year.

Oh yeh, Tint and I think good heat shielding under the hood, although some claim it is unnecessary for the paint, I think will help UNDER the hood temps here since most days I can fry an egg on it before i even turn the engine on!

well ive checked the fan switch and thermostat and both are working. i even swapped in a new new temp guage to see if it was that just being wierd but it wasnt. ive been looking around for some water wetter but havent found any yet, thought id just give it a try. but that heat wrap sounds like a good idea, i forgot all about that stuff... i think i might go get some right now. where did you get the lower temp fan switch?

You could wire into the bottom of the relay-fuse block and use a toggle switch to over ride the temp switch on the radiator. Have both fans full on.

Check the airflow? Make sure the air is going through the radiator and not under it.

Most radiator shops have 2 services available, that both cost less than a new radiator. You can have the radiator rodded. They pull the tanks off of it, and with some chemicals and a rod they force all of the deposits out of the radiator core. Or, you can have them install a new core. They simply put your end tanks onto a brand new radiator core, which will essentially be a brand new radiator, for less money. Rodding is usually a temporary fix solution, as the deposits normally score the internal tubes. Making it easy for new deposits to attach. But it'll at least prolong the life of the radiator long enough for you to save up for a new one.
