Immediate Help Needed by 5:30!
My '87 924S needed a new air filter, so I bought a K&N Cone Filter. I have the airbox almost taken off, but I cannot get the final section to disconnect. I didn't want to wreck anything, so I got on pelican. I have a photo attached that shows the area in question. How do I disconnect the stock airbox at this point?

Might work here:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1061322747.gif

looks like you already have the filter in place. what still needs to be disconnected?
|
I don't have a digital camera. This is a photo of a K&N that I found on the internet. The area in red is the area that I am talking about (The point that I need to disconnect the airbox).

THe point is where the stock airbox connects with the Black Bosch box that says "Made in France"

hmm, not sure how it looks on an N/A as I have a turbo and the attachment to the airflow sensor is quite different. is the black piece in the rectangle some sort of ring? if so, could it be threaded?

have a look:

I agree, Tom. definitely looks like it could be part 6. but that leaves the question why does it need to be removed when it appears that it's being used in the pic posted above? pb16 are you sure that something else needs to be removed instead of adding an adapter?
|
Thank you Tom. I didn't think to take off the stock filter in the airbox. After the downpour subsides, I will go look at what I can do.
|
ah, I misunderstood. I thought you already had the airbox off and needed to remove the section in the pic to make the other filter work. didn't realize that the box was still attached.
|
Thank you for your help, it worked.
|
that was some massive amounts of confussion. It took me quite a while to figure out what you guys were talking about!
