Porsche Crest 968 and NOS

I was wondering if anyone out there has run NOS, and if so what would be the larbest shot you can run without hurting the engine.
I would like to put a nitrous kit on a 94' 968, is that possibe.
Thanks

just be sure to get enough gas to go with all that air.

Still not a fan of NOS, but to each his own.

I have thought about doing it with the n/a (however, it was a complete wet shot for $250). I'm against nitrous, and it is expensive as f*ck to keep filled.

just me $.02

pointless on a 944 series car

why? Nitrous implies that you will be drag racing. A 944/968 car is terrible for drag racing. therefore, a 944/968 with nitrous simply doesn't make sense. If you ask me, nitrous goes against the "underpowered-but-boy-can-it-handle" spirit of these cars!

AH yes the 968

those had the 3 liter engines,
which made it the worlds fastest NA 4 cylinder.

That's why a nitrous kit called a "turbo" is so great for it!

It seems to me that the worlds fastest naturally aspirated car, if turbocharged,
could be the worlds fastest turbocharged/supercharged car.
(Assuming it was done correctly)

NOS to me is like people in sweats, they are too lazy to properly dress themselves; but you can't go naked.

I made a diagram below:

NOS - "the sweats"
lazy person - "slapping stupic crap on a spectacular engine"
you - "naked"

A turbocharged 968 is my dream car,
one day, one day.

My dream is a turbo charged but the only place that can do it right charges $15,000 which is more than I paid for the car, But some day it will happen I was just looking for something little to add 0-60 time to take the mustangs and cameros at lights. Its fun when a four cylinder gets the jump. Thanks guys I will probley hold on the NOS

Yesterday I saw a 968 convertible! Didn't know they made them. It was cool. The 968 is a badass ride if you ask me. LOVE those headlights.

For the cost of just a NOS kit, I bet you could get an old camaro and gut it out and it would already be faster.

You'll never want to drag race your 968 again after paying for a transmission. $$$$$$$$$$$$$

that makes sense as well; people that want status symbols generally buy cabrios... people that have a passion for the car generally prefer coupes (better for racing, etc). Therefore, more people would be selling their 968 cabs than the 968 coupes because 968s are passe' in the status game...

for my next sweeping generalization, tune in tomorrow... same bat time, same bat channel

I have thought about NOS, but I keep imagining seeing large chunks of of my drive train appearing in the rear view mirror as they bounce down the road.

A NOS kit named "turbo" doesn't make the car turbocharged. They both achieve essentially the same thing, but use different "fuels" (NO vs. Exhaust gas pressure).

Ooo! Ooo! I wanna be the Porsche crest - the only shiny thing left in the front of the car when the engine blows...
