Welcome to the club. Well, looks like you got a good first lesson. YES this is what you get for buying an automatic 944. I learned this lesson when I went to buy a rear axle "with new CV joints. 280 dollars. This opposed to 145 for a rebuilt manual axle. I ended up replacing the joints myself took an hour total. A month ago I had to replace a leaky return line "the ones that go from the back of your car to the radiator". It was a dealer only item and ended up costing 89.00 for a piece of rubber with some line on it. Then enter the radiator, 273.40 for the manual, 323.90 for the auto. If you ever get bored try finding a new shifter or a replacement for the leather since it is just one big piece. Add all that up with REALLY bad gas mileage and you have a 944 auto.
Personally I love my 944. It allows me to have a Porsche for a daily driver while holding a cell phone in one hand a PDA in the other and cup a java between the legs on my way to work in the morning. I have yet to find a way to do this in my 928. |
