944 Movie apperances

I've noticed in a few movies lately that 944 have popped up. Just wanted to see if anyone else noticed.

Some I've seen:
The Matrix (a tricky one to see)
Bounce
Urban Legends

Anyone have any else? Well I do have some other news too...

I GOT ENGAGED 2 DAYS AGO! wahoo!

I saw the one in matrix, I'm almost positive it was an 88 turbo S (silver nose).

Only the front fender, and forward/up were visible, in a blur...

I'll take a closer look at it... (will get it on DVD).

Where was the 944 in Bounce?

There was also a Movie called "Critters" circa 1986-1985ish that had big scenes of a red 944. The critters even ate the entire dash!

Obin now you've got me confused. Pretty sure it was a 944, but that was way before I got into Porsches. This kills me because it was just on the Superstation TBS about two weeks ago.

Urban Legends??? Are you sure?? I've seen that movie like 3 times and never noticed one. Huh, I'll have to watch it again. I must have let that one slip.

By the way, its not a 944 but, "Risky Business" has a pretty cool 928.

there's also a late 80's movie where two detectives are driving a red N/A 944. The movie must have sucked since I can't remember the name of it, but they drove the HELL out of that car. it would have made 1.2 proud!

Panzer,

Thanks for filling me in on "Critters". Been wondering about the dash in my wife's car. Now all I have to do is catch them.

An X-Files episode had a black early 944 sitting across the street.
We also have a commercial, (here in Canada), of an old man leaning up against a g/red 944. The guy is pretending to own the car as hot young chicks walk by. Then of course, the car drives away, and he's left with egg on his face. It warms my heart to see that commercial!
Also, a little off topic, but the 1987 movie The Hidden, features a nice 928 and a couple of nice Ferraris in high speed chases.

In "The Distinguished Gentleman" (Eddie Murphy), there is a black 951/S2 parked in front of the mansion in one of the first scenes.

"Scent of a Woman":

While Pacino is walking in the streets of NYC you get a .2 second shot of a Guards Red 944 stopped at a traffic light. Just saw this the other night.

Hey Obin, you don't have Beverly Hills Cop on there. A 928 is parked on the street when some kids go down the street bashing cars.

My old Daily Driver was the feature car in an Episode of The Showtime Network's Lovelines. The Episode was called "Mechanics of Desire". It was one of those cheesy Erotic Shows like Red Shoe Diaries but on Showtime instead.
Anyway, my car was a (Grey Market) Red 944 with solid black wheels. The episode was about this guy who was really into his car. He would drive around in the car with his really hot girlfriend and liked to watch her make love to other guys. They did some really nice Beauty Shots of the car at night in downtown Hollywood. In teh end, the girlfriend gets mad at him and does a giant burnout out of a Gas Station. That was my very first Stunt Driving gig, I got to do a giant burnout and tear off down the street with the LAPD blocking it off for me. Of course I asked to do a few practice runs! The first time in my life that a Cop held traffic for me to do a Burnout! I think I only made $500 to do the whole gig, car included. But the company signed a damage waiver in case anything should happen to the car (like a blown clutch or CV), they would take care of repairs. Even at the time, I was aware of 944 Transaxle weaknesses.
Regards,
David
