Chip on the back of my speedo
I just recently fixed my odometer, and while i was back there, i noticed this little PC board that was attached to the back of my speedo (it's actually broken in half) and I was wondering, what does that board do/connect to? is it for the cruise control?

thats so the government can monitor your movements throughout the US
to defeat it wrap kitchen foil around your head

Foil? Darn! I've been using plastic wrap!
What year car? P.S. Add your cars description to your signiture line in the personal profile area of the board. Helps us determine how many layers of foil you will require. ![]()

Early 85 with the square three hole dash. The circuit board on the back of the speedo is for the miles per gallon indicator in the tach. This could still be working even though the pc board is cracked.

If the MPG gauge is working then the cracked board (this just may be where the manufacturer seperated a bunch of boards) is working. This is a work or not work item.
The board is a multiplexer for the hall effect sensor in the speedo. A miles per gallon gauge has to get the current cars speed from some where. The rest of the info is from the DME. Most likely a value based on how long the injectors are opening.

Funny- I have the same "Hall effect" sensor on my speedo, but no MPG gauge on my dash..On the 924s I mean.
How Odd..
