If your car is pre 1985, behind the firewall next to the battery. After 85, somewhere in passenger area behind firewall.

thanx for the reply euro. my car is an 84 944. now do you mean behind the battery under the hood or in the interior behind the glovebox. if on the outside, is the ignition box waterproof? thanx
