rear seatbelts
Hey everybody
It's been a while since I last posted, and I still have my old 944. It's still running great and I'm still enjoying it almost every day. I also have my first born son on the way (due Oct. 3rd), but I have since lost the rear seatbelts after removing the entire rear seat a while back for racing purposes. Does anyone have any rear seatbelts for the 86 944 that they would be willing to sell to me? I'd like to take my son home from the hospital in our 944. Start him off right, ya know? Thanks

I don't have any extra seatbelts but the PO of my 951 had retractable three-point belts and eye hooks for the carseat tethers installed in the backseat. I can send you pictures if you are interested.

Sure I'd love to see some pics. So were the tethers/eyehooks a mod that needed to be done? Would I be able to install some three point harnesses in there?

I'll take some this weekend. All new cars and car seats come with tethers that attach to some sort of body mounting point to further secure the seat beyond the use of the standard seatbelt. As I understand it, rear facing infant seats that use the detachable baby carriers do not use the the tethers and also use a standard lapbelt. Once you move up to forward facing seats, the tether comes into play and then for a booster you need a shoulder belt and the tether. The eyebolt assemblies (one per side) are bolted through the floor of the rear hatch area centered behind each seat.

I'm sure I can round a set up for you. $50 for the complete set with hardware and the plastic caps for the bolts. Shipping would be $7.50 via UPS ground service. jar_red@hotmail.com or 417-850-1863

i'm going to take the lap belts (and seats) out of my '85.0 944, and if you just pay for shipping... i'm willing to just give them to you as a gift from one Porsche owner to another
