My '85.5 was brought over in '86 and converted to US specs. It has a Glockler sticker on the back and I was wondering if anyone had any more info about "Glockler". I thought they were a performance outfit for Porsche, but can't understand why a sticker would be on the back of my non-performance 944. Did Glockler own dealerships?
Please educate me! ![]()

Try a google search on "Porsche Glockler" and all sorts of stuff comes up.
"Porsche's early racing efforts were aided immeasurably by Walter Glockler, a Frankfurt-based Volkswagen dealer who built a series of racing machines powered by VW engines. By 1953 Glockler and Porsche were cooperating so closely that Glockler's race cars bore Porsche badges, and later that year the Frankfurt dealer helped Porsche launch its famed 550." |
