Replacing dash - how?

I need to replace the dash (top only) in my 968 Cab:

1. The dash is the same as the 944 - correct? That is, can be replaced with a 944 late-oval dash? 2. The procedure is the same as for the 944 dash? If so, can anyone provide any links to instructions on the precise procedure to be followed? 3. Can the top be replaced without replacing the lower dash (glove box etc.)? 4. How difficult is it for the mechanically ignorant - any tools, special procedures etc.

Any advice/tips would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance

Paul

this topic isnt covered in the 944 workshop manuals.. I was wondering if it was in the 924 manuals. I am pretty sure some of you have them. I was wondering how helpful the 924 manuals are to the 944 owner since you are supposed to have both sets to work on a 944?

I pulled my dash last night to install a new airbox. ( i'm adding a/c) the dash is all one piece so you can't replace just the top. its about a 4hr +or- job. with patience its not that bad. send me your phone # if you want sone pointers.
