Question What years 944 motors do the 86-88 924S use ??

Question: I just purchase a 87 924S I need to replace the motor what year 944 motor bolts right into the 924S with no mods. engine code M44/07 Ive been told so many stories whos right ???? Some say use the early style motors same say use 85.5 to 88 ?????

It's real simple.

Use the same motor as the base model 944 for that year. If you have an 88 924S (I have wo), you will need an 88 944 motor.

BTW, I have an 88 924S parts car that may be available, if you want it and can deal with transporting from NeOhio
