I don't know how many of you remember a few weeks ago that I was driving on the freeway and my 924 died and no matter what I tried, nothing worked. I tested coil, fuel, electrical...etc, etc, etc.
Well yesterday I was going to call the tow truck but I figured I would try one last thing ....throwing in my new spare fuel pump relay in spite of the fact that I had fuel at the fuel distributor. It started !!!! Also, thanks to all who gave me some places to look for the problem.. ------------------ Gordon 1981 924 N/A |

Sounds like me and that rotor coming loose off my car....everyone thought a belt snapped or i had hydrolock, cause the motor was makin the noise that a valve struck the piston.

It's not a good thing to know about...but...when 5 valves get bent upon deceleration at 3000 RPM, the sound is a gronch, no dings, no pings, it is a light gronch sound.
Not as loud as when you miss a shift and gronch the tranny, its about half as loud as that but sounds the same. Yep timing belts, their great. NOT |
