Need DME

Hey guys- been busy with work and haven't posted in a while. Hope everyone is doing well.

Does anyone know if the 88 model has a year-specific DME or does any post 85 1/2 DME work? I bought a bum performance chip from E-bay and it has fried my computer (for the 2nd time- I don't learn too fast).

Anyone see 944 parting out anywhere other than here (I already checked Pelican classifieds and no DMEs were available).

it has its own specific dme, just as the '89 does too.

That's what I though.

If anyone gets a lead on an 88 DME, please let me know!

Thanks

1st one came with the car- I installed the chip and about 3 months later it was out.
I found a replacement about 4 months ago at Rennlist classified and got lucky; $100
I was stupid and put the chip in again- Anyway, I think I found one for $250 at 944online.com I'm going to shop a bit more to see if I can't beat that price.
