Does anybody know where to get specs on K26 turbos from 930, 931, 951? Specs I'm interested in are AR ratios, compressor maps, etc.
Thanks, drew1 |

Do a search on the net...I found a place that actually has a map of a k26 and it is pretty depressing (no offense to you stock guys). I mean depressing in that compressor efficiency drops off pretty quickly when you go much above stock boost levels. This essentially means that you are heating a lot of air instead of actually compressing it.
I'll try to find the link... Erick |

Thanks Erik. Got to go through wife's old 931 this summer. I was wondering if 944 guts would fit & give good effiency on the airflow needed for decent boost on the 2 liter motor.

Here is a k26 compressor map that I found from an Audi. Its likely the same as the k26 on the 951.

the audi turbo's got the k6/4 if i am not mistaken..so it is smaller and the flow would be diff...but your right it is not that far from the mappings......
i guess a garett hybrid would be best...T3/T4....T3 turbine and a T4 compressor... this what i have learned/experience..i had tried a full... T4/60-1 with a P trim and can't get to spool( too big)...so i have down graded to a smaller trim(smaller turbine side but the same size compressor)....and it's not a joke fitting that turbocharger in......it not a direct bolt...a lot of things to be modified... |

That map is for a k26 compressor - just like a 951. It maybe from an Ur-Quattro, 5000, or A4 - I'm not sure. Remember that it is only a compressor map. In other words, no matter what size the exhaust housing/wheel are the compressor map will not change.

Thanks Erik. Been searching and found same map on Audi board. By other posts on Audi board, It seems that Porsche had a different turbine or hot side on K26 which Audi considered an upgrade.
I wonder if there were different compressors used by Porsche on K26. Would you use the same compressor on a 3.0 flat six, 930, and a 2.0 truck motor, 931. The Huntley Racing site gives a dyno sheet of stock K26 in 951 that shows a big torque drop about 4000 rpm. I think I have read on this board about about a boost drop in higher rpm in stock 951. One of these compressors for 2.0 bar pressure at 4000rpm in a 951, would probably give about 1.8 bar at 6000 in 2.0 liter 931 with the same flow & effiency. drew1 |
