"usually" means its was overheated....as long as any other damage was fixed (i.e. cracked/warped head) its probably OK....but he could have also been in there for a valve job...whats his reason?

haven't talked to the actual guy, talked to his dad, who knows nothing about the car. I hate that, that happened last time, the guy selling the car didn't know jack and his whole selling point was that it was a "porsche" and that it is a car with "sentamental value" i told him i am not paying 4 thousand more than this car is worth for "sentamental value"

What mileage is the car ?
I don't think it's that unusual on 944's from 100k onward.

It happened to my 951 at 107k so I looked into it to see if it was premature.

If the job was done properly they should have checked the head for warping.
