Post My 88 928S4 VS Boxter outcome?

Ok this is for the sake of conversation. At least 3 times a week I see this 40 something mid life chrisis suffering guy who pulls up next to me be it going to work in the morning or coming home. Every time he just revs it up and peals off. The only time I ever managed to make eye contact he flat out looked down own me "text book". He does this when I am in my 944 and 928. I know I have no chance in a 944 NA auto, but usually on Fridays I take the 928. I know she is a little heavy from the start but would it even be worth it? Would I get smoked?

I don't advocate street racing, but occasionally spanking some deserving twit, go for it if you're in a safe area to do it. It's a warm feeling sometimes just cruising home and every so often the old me takes control when a kid in a Firebird goes a bit too far. 928S4 v Boxster? Boxster Lite or Boxster S? Either way, he'll probably get you off the line but nowhere else that this type of person would have any experience driving.

Your 928 should spank that Boxter,my father has a 80 928 it's real quick,I guess all of them run as good as his does.

88 928 should have around 315 HP, so it should spank the Boxster. 0-60 is roughly 5.5 seconds. If it is an auto, it will be slower, though. I think it only had a 3 speed auto. Maybe it was the 4 by then, but I don't think so.

let's do the math.

porsche 928 s4 3450 lbs/316 hp = 10.9 lbs/hp
porsche boxster 2750 lbs/201 hp = 13.7 lbs/hp

those weights are educated guesses, but i think they're close. if you have at trans, then you'll be slightly slower than manual, but i think still a bit quicker than the boxter.
