Why cant I find red!
Why cant I find a 951 in red in good condition in my price range!!!! http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/mad.gif I have found 2 black ones between $7-8k but no red.
I found a red 87 for $10900 owned by a woman and shes the original owner. The paint and interior(black leather sport seats) look brand new (front bumper was resprayed because of chips), the clutch is new, waterpumps replaced, new timing belt and reset, new lower crank bearings, 144k miles, mobile 1 its whole life. How much do you think this car is worth? I am going to look at it closely on monday, but I already know I cant afford $10k. The book value on this car is $6500 but I wouldnt expect to pay that little, but I think $10k is pretty steep. ------------------ |
and just what is wrong with black? i think it's the color that best defines the 951. well, everybody has their opinions.
if that car was really taken care of and has records, it could sell for close to the asking price. try to be patient. 951's are getting harder to find, but you can find them. i know it's easy to say be patient, but that's probably what you should do. summer time seems to bring more cars to the market. you'll find a nice one you can afford. http://home.pacbell.net/nirky/turbo_120.jpg |
lol, theres nothing wrong with black. I have already owned 2 black cars and it is so hard to keep them clean. If I cant find red, I will end up buying a black one.

10K is about right for that car if its in the condition you stated. The nicer and cleaner ones bring a premium.

I have a red 951 and if I could go back in time (8-9yrs) I'd get a black one instead. Black looks good on the 951 and so does the dark gray. I even priced getting mine painted yellow a few years ago but for that price I could buy another car http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif

Mine is red, but I really wanted a black or a dark gray one. BTW- my ins is NOT higher because of the color. It helps to be older, stable, with no tickets. The deciding factor is that it is a Porsche and a 4 cylinder. And I gave less than $6k.
