Porsche Crest Finally - pics of my '86 951

Note: This is a repost from the 951 forum, but I want to share with the rest of the 944 family as well.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Well, after a lot of work fixing broken parts and waxing w/ Zaino, my 951 is ready to come out and play. I took it out to a park today and took some pictures.

She's an '86 951 with 104,000 miles, bought from a friend of a friend for $5500 (tell me if I did OK or not). The paint is in great shape (a couple of scuff-looking scratches on the roof, some chipping on the headlight doors and nose clip). I replaced the taillights and foglights (broken, sun faded), totally cleaned the interior, etc.

She runs well, had the balance and timing belts done at 97k. I'm the 5th owner, and I know (via my friend) the previous two owners. The only major thing not working is the AC; the PO said he worked his way through the entire system and thinks it's the last remaining piece, the evaporator. Little things are wrong, like the wiper fluid to the windshield doesn't work, the steering wheel is coming unwrapped, etc. But nothing catastrophic. I replaced the radio with a nothing-fancy MP3 player and new speakers; installed a Lindsey Boost Enhancer.

High res versions are available at http://community.webshots.com/user/janstett3

Thanks for all the compliments, guys. The PO has a growing family with a newborn and didn't have time for the car anymore, and needed to unload it. His loss was definitely my gain

The Lindsey comes set a little high and I definitely noticed the difference, my boost gauge quickly shot up to (and past) 2.0 bar. I tweaked it back down to around the stock boost pressure, and it's not as radical as before but still it spools up quicker than stock. I give it a thumbs up
