Can you suggest a method to modify my rear seat latches from early to late mounts?

The only thing I can come up with is to use a 1/4" steel plate. Drill a slip fit hole for the large pin and use two nuts to capture it in place. Drill two holes to match the two blind nuts for the old style catch. Drill a larger hole to clear the nut on the pin into the side pillar.
I don't have an 86 handy to see if the measurements between where the large pin centers and the two blind nuts are workable

I was thinking that or if I can find a mirror nut the size of the pin and put it in the body like the factory..... Well sort of.
Thanks

The pins should have two nuts each. If they didn't come with the nuts you didn't get all the parts. Go to a dealer and order the nuts.
