clutch finally getting done!
As we speak, Bristol Motor Works is installing my Power Friction/Sachs hybrid clutch set. As long as he's under there, my mechanic is also getting rid of a master cyllinder leak (turns out it was the master after all) and a minor oil leak!
I'll let you all know how it drives tomorrow afternoon. I am so stoked!

I hope she now shifts smooth as butter! I just did my own clutch job... what a nightmare. It's a trade off I guess... I spent 500 bucks and did it my self, but it took me a week. I wonder how much it would cost to have a shop do it. I bet 1500 at least.

well, I ordered the clutch myself... that was $350 after finding the best price. My mechanic always gives me a break on pricing because it used to be his car. I am expecting another $500 or so for labor. It would be closer to $700 if you go by the book.

Oh my god! What a difference! My car feels different, drives different, even SOUNDS different! A lot of the old spunk that seemed to be missing as of late is now back (although I still suspect that a few ponies are still being restrained somewhere in the fuel/air system...)!
Not only that, my mechanic bleeded the brake system, repaired the brake fluid leak, and vanquished the small oil leak, and did some other fine tuning. The brake problem is now gone. The car idles smoother and revs smoother. Now excuse me while I go and enjoy my car!
