944 exhaust sound

I have a new to me 944 with a cat-back exhaust. It has a deeper, and not crisp sound. The other 944 I had the exhaust note was quiet and turbine sounding. will changing back to factory exhaust give me the more "turbine" like sound, or is this a lost cause?

Asking if you should replace that timing belt is like asking if you should re-use a condom that may have in hole in it with a hooker.

i had been running mine with out the exhaust pipe on, but with the cat. i put the exhaust pipe on, i there was a noticeable amount more low end power. i couldn't believe it. i can seriously FEEL the difference.

proves that too little restriction or lack of backpressure can really hurt power

I have a straight-through exhaust on mine. Since it was fitted the car is slightly quicker than it was with a standard. But the note has changed significantly.
Now it burbles at the low end and rasps at the high end. That electric sound is still there though, I believe it is the water pump...
