ok, you were right, low fuel light is on again...

my low fuel light is coming on again even when it's full or not even near empty. now it stays on continuously instead of blinking, as it did before. how do i fix this?

You need a new sender unit. It's in the top of the tank, pull up the trunk soundproofing and there it is! Try checking the connections first.
On a 944 the low fuel level light doesn't blink, it just lights up.

so there IS a low fuel light? i've never let the fuel gauge get too low, i'm afraid of running out of gas on the road.

2.7? Hmmm.....for me, that would translate into about 50 miles.....since I only get about 20-21 mpg (gonna test the 02 sensor this weekend).....

I replaced my fuel sending unit since it did not work at all, and it was real easy.......

first of all... low fuel lights DO blink, because i've seen it... is the sender unit that black wire that runs under that metal lip that is underneath the top of the rear seat?

Nope, the fuel light does not blink. You may think it does, but that's only because fuel slosh is moving the float up and down. If you stop the car with the light on..it will stay on and not blink. That is the time to call AAA.
There is no electrical part in the system to make the light blink, the fuel sender is being used as a switch to light the bulb.

Yeah...it will flicker on and off when sloshing real low......Mine does that and didn't do it before I replaced the sender unit. I notice if I'm kinda low and turning right, it will flicker....but once it gets lower, it just says on......

That's my experience, anyways....

well, even when i wasn't moving, the light would go on and off inconsistently. that stopped, now it's on 100% of the time. and SOMETIMES flickers off for a second. also it does this ALL the time, even when i have JUST filled up with gas

this appears to be a problem within the instrument cluster as a defective sending unit would probably give false indications on both the needle and the light
