Are there two thermofan (coolant temp) switches on a 944 with Air Conditioning?
My passenger side fan is not working, my driver's side fan works when the AC is on or the temp has hit the halfway mark(with the AC off). I believe my passenger side Non-AC fan has a bad relay or thermofan switch.
Are there two thermofan switches on a car with AC? Does the Non-AC passenger side fan work off of the "cooling fan" relay? Thanks for all responses, as I am trying to get my daily driver back on the road - Jeremy 1983 Guards Red [This message has been edited by jwolk1 (edited 08-09-2001).] |

Only one (1) thermoswitch. I'm not sure if both fans run when on Low speed setting, or if only one runs. You may have a bad fan motor or a cut wire leading to the other fan.

There is only ONE switch that is over-ridden by the AC. when the fans are on, they should BOTH be on, you have a bad fan motor or bad wiring.

on mine, the passenger fan comes on when the temp gets just above the 1st line
the drivers side fan comes on when the a/c is on. both fans come on with the car not running/key on with a/c on. check fuses, not sure if they're the same as mine.
