Question Tbelt? for SoCal

I think I have a loose belt. It is loose to the touch at the WP pulley and appears that is my coolant issue...not spinning the impeller! And darn lucky I haven't lost the belt!!! Question is can I retension without locking everything down?........ This when I wish it were a 911! TIA! Sman

Eeeek!!!!

Can you wiggle the water pump pulley?

If so it's time to replace it.

If the pully has little to any side to side play then it's ok unless there is a coolant leak coming from around it.

I would take a hard look at the T-belt. Cracks, chunks out of or missing teeth etc.

If it even seems to look bad replace it. Do the balance belt too.

Been a thread on the kriket tensioning tool on Rennlist. Eveyone is satisfied that it works.

Just recorded to mpg a cop chase of a 911. Kid stole it from his boss. If he would have had any driving experiance in it he surely would have out run the cops. The anouncer keep calling it turbo charged. NOT!

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

No the pulley is fine only movement is the right one. It is the belt that drives it. I need to tighten that belt so it spins the WP pulley but want any short cuts to achieve it! Really don't want to go all out and lock everything down. Thanks! Sman
